TL:DR: Most organisations are prioritising the wrong things in their communities because they have the wrong strategy. Here’s a simple three-step process for selecting the right programs
Why Your Community Strategy Fails
I’ve worked with a LOT of organisations on their community strategies over the past 15 years.
During that time, I’ve noticed many of these strategies aren’t really strategies at all. They’re often a combination of vague goals (‘increase engagement!’), a disparate bunch of programs, or wishful thinking.
Very rarely do we see a strategy that includes the three essential ingredients of strategy.
This means many communities are rudderless. Instead of being driven in a clear direction with a prioritised list of programs, decisions are made ad hoc with a lack of focus, consistency, or resilience. This limits the community’s results and value to members.
In this video, I share the simple frameworks and methodology we’ve used at FeverBee to develop over a hundred community strategies.
Before you dive into roadmaps, platform selection, or implement any other new program, I suggest you watch it!
