Someone emails you with a question.

Reply in the community

“I had a great question this week about xyz….

I think……. because ……

Do most of you agree? Especially with ….. ?”

Send the person who asked the question a link to the post.

Repeat until they begin asking the questions in the community instead. Be kind but persistent. These questions belong in the community now.

If it’s faster, quicker, and more reliable to email you instead of asking in the community, they will always ask you.

If you always post their question in the community and answer there, soon they’ll skip the extra step and ask their questions there too.

Now consider how often you ask colleagues questions that could easily be asked in the community. It might be more often than you think.
