It’s a real sport you know?
Meetups help members bond and exchange knowledge, but you should pick just one.
If it’s knowledge exchange, book a quiet venue (not a bar!). Make sure it has an easy to work projector/laptop. Test the sound. Create worksheets and issue handouts. Follow up with summary of information shared. Keep the agenda tight and discussions on track.
If it’s bonding, plan a group activity that will create memories and create a shared purpose/challenge. Again, don’t book a bar or restaurant. Neither is conducive to group bonding. Look at your local TimeOut guide and attend the most interesting event on the page.
