Fascinating. I love it went posts are backed by research. Thank you for summarising their findings for our benefit!

One other technique I fall for often is "The progress bar" ... LinkedIn does a great job of encouraging you to fill in more parts of your profile and take small actions to get to 100% complete. You don't "have" to do it ~ but you feel completed to. Basically the "foot in the door" technique ... baby steps.
