Numbers have been blown out of all proportions. Many companies are disappointed with having only 970 members in their community.
A community of 60 people is fine. A community of 600 people is great. A community of 6000 people might be a little too big. A community of 60,000 people isn’t a community – it’s a platform for other communities.
What matters is resources you put in against the results. 970 members that always buy your latest products, answer customer questions, give feedback and help promote your products is a fantastic investment – easily worth at least 1 full time community manager.
Sounds like about 1,000 true fans!
