Go for the smallest slither of the pie.
Build trust. Ask for a bigger slither.
Build trust. Ask for a small piece.
If the client has a £50k online marketing budget, ask for £1k to build a thriving Facebook Group. Get your measurements of success in there, and hit those targets. Now ask for another £2k to add a blog to the Facebook Group.
You see where this is going? It's my entire business philosophy: Start small, build trust, build big.
So why try for the whole pie? The competition is cutthroat, the pressure to live up to your pitch is intense and the working relationship can be difficult.
Ask for a slither, show results, win trust, ask for more.
